Sweet Dreams

Some cute photos of Isaac sleeping.  I used the sketch from Splitcoast stampers SBSC283 as the basis of the layout.  With 2 cute photo's the page came together pretty quickly.

The papers are grants, pale blue and darkest blue and a scrap piece of spot paper.  The words are printed on some clear vellum.

The swirl is stamped onto the top right corner from SU! Elements of Style using Not quite navy

Elements: The "sweet" word is a silver metal from PaperScissorsRock.  The pearls are stick on elements. The ribbon is white ribbon. The sweetdreams words are a sticker and the teddy is a 3D sticker

Extra cards in may

Got some extra cards done this month, I think the patchwork design is my favorite of these three.

Like the patch work like design of this one. I did a very quick birthday card (not posted) and it came out so well I wanted to try the design again with christmas stuff.  The Reindeer paper is quite funky and set the tones, but its all scraps.
Papers: Reindeer SU! Handsome Hunter, Real Red & So Saffron.
Ink: White, So Saffron, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: SU! Punch Pals, Holiday Four, Elements of Style
Accessories: Ribbon & Pearls.

A fairly simple and traditional type of christmas card, I often have trouble with the tree stamp being so small, but with this layout it looks ok. The tree & presents came up well, I love being able to have a multi-coloured image with markers.
Stamps: SU! Punch Pals
Paper: Dark Green, Red & Vanilla
Ink: Versa Mark, SU! Handsome Hunter & SU! Bold Brights Marker

This is a very simple card, quick to make but I think a bit elegant.
Stamps: SU! Snow Swirled, Holiday Four
Paper: SU! Vanilla, Real Red
Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip
Accssories: Real Red  Ribbon, Diamond

Used a sketch from Splitcoast Stampers SBSC272 to create this layout and really pleased with how it came together. Cute photos, I remember how adorable Isaac was, laughing and soooo cute.

I always end up making a pair of pages that complement, these ones look really good together, colourful and cute photos!

The flow across the page worked really well, with the journaling as part of the photo string. I added elements to the pages with sponging on the edges of each of the sections, and added a white rub on as a feature.

Details:
Stamps: SU! Weathered,
Paper: Grants
Ink: SU! Soft Suede
Accessories: SU! RubOns

Christmas Cards - May

For this month I did the 2 twisted easel cards that are in my earlier post and a fairly simple card that used my new SU! Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies that I got for mothers day.

This is a fairly simple card details are:
Card:  SU! So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Ruby Red
Ink:  Versa Mark
Ribbon: random gold ribbon
Stamps: SU! So Swirly Roller
Tools: Scallop edge punch, SU! Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies (Big Shot)

I gold embossed both the ruby red panel and the M with the so swirly to tie the elements together.  Then it is all pretty simple with everything a single layer.  The ribbon just runs across a strip of Baja.

Twisted Easel Cards

I love easel cards and recently a friend showed me some easel cards with a twist and had to make some.  The same week the technique challenge at SplitcoastStampers (TLC323) was also twisted easel,  I ended up with quite a few by the time I did some birthday cards too!

I am also aiming to use up some retired papers, so I am using some different colors that I might otherwise, however its fun! I think I am now a bit sad that rust has retired :-)

Ute Card:
Paper: Real Rust, Chocolate Chip, Patterned Choc Chip, Close to cocoa, whisper white
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Real Rust
Stamps: SU! Loads of Love, Boho Backgrounds
Accessories: SU! Large Oval

Medallion:
Paper: Real Rust, Real rust DSP
Ink: Real Rust, White
Stamps: SU! Medallion, tiny sentiments
Accessories: SU! Oval & Scallop Oval Punch, white ribbon, diamonties, dazzling diamonds

Happy Birthday Card:
Paper: SU! White, Almost Amythest
(I stamped all the patterns!)
Ink: Su!Almost Amythest, Pink Passion
Stamps: SU! Looks like spring, short&sweet, think happy thoughts
Acessories: SU! Sizzix die Blossoms, Scallop Circle & 11/4" Punch

The flower has sponged edges which gives depth, especially to the white petals.

Christmas Tree Card:
Paper: SU! Ski Slope, Baja Breeze, White, Not quite Navy
Stamps: SU! Snow Swirled, Punch Pals
Ink: SU! Not quite navy, versa mark

Accessories: white ribbon, Alison Elli emboss powder

The edge of the tree card is also scuffed for texture.

My cards are all made from the following instructions/dimensions:
- Cut cardstock, to 8 inch long, and 4 inch wide.
- Score 8 inch side at 4 inches, then score one the squares diagonally.

All easel cards need something to prop them open like a brad, for all the above cards the item sitting at the bottom is raised on dimensionals and used as the prop.
